This part-time position is responsible for providing primary professional services to
clients assigned to group treatment programs at Colonial Counseling Associates.
Services include providing therapeutic leadership and direction to clients engaged
in group process for alcohol or drug related issues including DUI and other incidents
where alcohol or drugs were a factor. The counselor is expected to plan each group
session, maintain individual client files, encourage participation of all group members,
keep up-to-date records on attendance, progress, payment, as well as timely
reports as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field OR three (3)
years experience working as a Primary Counselor in the field of substance
abuse and addictions. CAAP certification will satisfy 1 year work experience.
Working knowledge of office equipment such as fax machines and copiers.
Easy access to word processing computer and ability to create word documents necessary.
This part-time position provides initial psychosocial assessment for prospective
clients to determine treatment needs for substance related issues and addiction.
Employee must possess a professional and courteous demeanor to interview
clients with various backgrounds and needs. Must have legible handwriting and
good organizational skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field.
One (1) year experience in addictions assessments will satisfy 2 years
college-related
courses. Must have working knowledge of office equipment
and word processing capabilities.
